2 Introduction
Today, NEC Corporation of America (NEC) is excited to announce a major step in the
enhancement & advancement of the UNIVERGE
®
3C™ Unified Communications (UC)
platform with the release of version 8.1.3.x. UNIVERGE 3C redefines communications and
collaboration with secure, reliable anywhere/anytime communications for business continuity
with a common user experience across any device or environment – premise, cloud or hybrid
cloud.
This major release builds on UNIVERGE 3C‟s UC platform by expanding its capabilities with
advanced Collaboration, C-LINK Trunking (IP Peer to Peer CCIS), Emergency On-Site
Notification (E-OSN), Outlook Calendar and Contact Search Integration & more allowing 3C
users to collaborate, communicate & improve their UC experience. . New and existing
customers all benefit from the exciting new features and functionality of UNIVERGE 3C

In order to assist you in upgrading your customers with older Polycom phones (IP300, IP500,
etc.), this 3C release adds ability within the 3C Administrator to manage these older Polycom
IP phones, where previously this capability had been removed with initial release of v8.0.
UNIVERGE 3C version 8.1.3.x is released with the following:
- 3C Collaboration Meeting Manager (CMM)
- 3C C-LINK Trunking (CCIS Protocol for SV Platform Connectivity)
- 3C Emergency On-Site Notification (E-OSN) for E-911
- 3C Smart Tags for Microsoft Outlook “click to call”
- All features previously released in v8.1.1.3 & more
- Service Pack 1 for v8.1.3.6 is also available for download and provides additional
enhancements. It can be downloaded from NEC Information Portal > 3C/Sphericall
Folder > Sys_Docs+8_1_3_6 Folder > Software Folder.
