UNIVERGE 3C NEC HUB Incompatibility Notice
TECHNICAL UPDATE REGARDING THE NEC VG3 MEDIA GATEWAYS
LIMITATION: NEC VG3 Media Gateways with serial number 0636xxxxxx or
lower are not supported with any Sphericall/UNIVERGE 3C system v7.1 or
higher, this includes all releases of v8.x or later. The serial number can be found
on the rear of the hardware outside panel of each MG.
Due to changes in the MG firmware for security features, the NEC MGs are not
supported for any v7.1 or v8.x system integrations. V7.0 and below systems are
supported.
If you are upgrading to version 8.x or above and you have any of these gateways, mentioned
above, please refer to Technical Bulletin TB135 entitled “MG Serial Number Support” for more
information. With 8.0 and 8.1 software versions, it is possible to run the older gateways on
firmware version 7.0, and this is fully supported by NEC. In order to do this, please reference
the Technical Bulletin mentioned above.
