15.4 BUSINESS MOBILITY DMLS (DECT MESSAGING & LOCATION SERVICES)
DMLS (DECT Messaging and Location Services): The DMLS interface enables 3
rd
party
information systems such as alarm and control, paging, databases, and scheduling to
message and locate G955 and i755 IP DECT wireless handsets. This interface is NOT
required if messaging just between NEC DECT handsets. NEC and AMCOM Software have
partnered to provide robust messaging applications.
The DECT Messaging and Location Services (DMLS) interface offers a universal
software interface for 3
rd
party application and the (IP) DECT System. It is
required that 3
rd
party messaging service providers work with the SDK (software
development kit) and confirm interoperation prior to purchasing and deploying
the DMLS functionality.
Each IP DECT system has a unique PARI key and the PARI Key can only be linked to one
DMLS license. The PARI key provided with the NEC IP WIRELESS CD (PART 690705)
purchase and is required when integrating the DMLS functionality.
There are two licenses available; DMLS basic licenses and another designed specifically for
the SV8100.
Special Notes:
The DLMS is not required if NEC DECT sets are texting between the devices. It is
only utilized when there is a need to connect the NEC DECT IP to outside messaging
services.
3
rd
party vendors that would supply messaging services to the NEC DECT set through the
DMLS need to support the open API interface specification. Additional information on the
Open API can be obtained through the NEC partner program.
