PRODUCT USE
QUIKRETE
®
Thermo-Lube is used as an additive to concrete and
mortar to help accelerate the set and reduce the time that the fresh
concrete needs to be protected from freezing. It is also excellent as a
"wetting" agent or a lubricant to allow for more workability.
QUIKRETE
®
Thermo-Lube meets ASTM specification C 494 for Type
C Accelerating Admixtures as shown in Table 1B. Early strengths are
also enhanced by the addition of QUIKRETE
®
Thermo-Lube without
adversely affecting later strengths. It also imparts excellent
workability to all concrete and mortar mixes at any temperature.
SIZES
• QUIKRETE® Thermo-Lube is available in 1 gallon (3.8 L), 5 gallon
(19 L), and 55 gallon (208 L) sizes

RATE OF APPLICATION
• For best results, use within the recommended dosage range shown
in Table 1A. For maximum acceleration use the highest
recommended dosage. Do not under any circumstances use more
than the maximum recommended dosage.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contains Calcium Chloride. Do not use in areas that will be in
contact with steel reinforcement. If color is important, dosage rate
should be established and consistently maintained throughout the
project.

merchantable quality when used or applied in accordance with the
instructions herein. The product is not warranted as suitable for any
purpose or use other than the general purpose for which it is
intended. Liability under this warranty is limited to the replacement of
its product (as purchased) found to be defective, or at the shipping
companies’ option, to refund the purchase price. In the event of a
claim under this warranty, notice must be given to The QUIKRETE®
Companies in writing. This limited warranty is issued and accepted in
lieu of all other express warranties and expressly excludes liability for
consequential damages.

Thermo-Lube (#1905) is an accelerating admixture liquid for concrete
and mortar in cold weather, hastening the hydration of Portland cement which
enables the cement to harden before freezing.
