FLAT STRAPPING
Properly spaced horizontal steel
bracing provides resistance to stud
rotation and minor axis buckling
under wind and axial loads. Block
and strapping is typically used
when wall studs exceed 6." Field cut,
blocking is used if knockouts do not
align. It’s also used as bridging when
framing members are unpunched.

direction—concealing fasteners on
the face of the product. The system
creates an interlocked design
between the stud and track for
baseboard backing installations; and
