QSkirt Installation Guide

Mar-2020, Rev 3BI 7.2.3-47
Lay out the skirt at the bottom of the array and
complete any splicing if necessary. NOTE: clamps
cannot be installed over the splice so be sure to
account for this in layout planning.
Slide the splice into the channel on the top of the
QSkirt, and then slide an additional segment of
QSkirt onto the splice. Press the two segments flush
together and then slide the splice to line up with the
screw holes. Fasten down the splice using the a #3
Phillips head screwdriver and the accompanying
screws.
The QSkirt must extend a minimum of 1.2 inches
past the edge of the module frame at the outermost
corners of the array
To attach, insert the QClick on the End Clamp at a
slight angle into the channel on the QSkirt. While
holding firmly in place, rock the QClick until it clicks
into place.
The End Clamp should be flush against the
module frame. The lip of the upper clamp should
be flush against the edge of module. Ensure that
the lower section of the clamp body sits squarely
on the top of skirt channel. The QSkirt should be
flush with the front of the module.
Using a 1/2 inch socket, tighten the clamp bolt onto
the module. Tighten the clamp bolt to 8 -lbf.
Connect the QSkirt to array using a Mid Clamp at
each of the module breaks. Insert the Mid Clamp
between the modules and rock it into position until
it clicks into place. Take care that clamp head sits
squarely on top of the module frame.
Using a 1/2 inch socket, tighten the clamp bolt onto
the module. Tighten the clamp bolt to 12 -lbf.
Attach End Caps with the provided screws, screwing
through the holes on the end cap with a #2 Phillips
screwdriver, into the screw bosses of the extrusion
insuring the black side of the Skirt End Caps is facing
outward.
