Before using your portable power pack, you should fully charge it. The high
charge indicator light will come on when the unit has been charged. Re
-
charge every 30 days or when the medium or low lights indicate less than full
charge. Fluctuations in temperature can accelerate battery discharge. Check
your unit often.
Using the iStart
™
• MakesuretheiStart
™
power switch is OFF.
• Connectthered(positive+)clamptothepositiveterminalorpostonthe
discharged battery.
• Connecttheblack(negative–)clamptoagroundawayfromthebattery,
such as an alternator bracket.
• Ifconnectionsarereversed,polarityalarmwillsoundandreversed
connections light will be red.
• TurnthepowerswitchON.
• Starttheengine.
• TurnthepowerswitchOFF.
• Disconnecttheclamps,rstnegativeandthenpositive.
To jump start a vehicle or machine:
• Failuretokeepinternalbatterychargedwillleadtopermanentbatterydamage.
• Connectingadischargedbatterytochargedsystemcouldcauseoverheatingorexplosion.
• DamagemayoccuriftheRescuePortablePowerPackisattachedtoarunningvehiclefor
more than 30 seconds after the engine starts.
