Working with output styles
Output styles let you capture settings for output in print, PDF, ePub, Kindle, and EPS
formats. You can use output styles when using the File > Print, File > Export > Save Page
as EPS, File > Export > Layouts as AVE, File > Export > Reflow as ePub, File > Export
> Reflow as Kindle, and File > Layout > Export as PDF commands. QuarkXPress includes
default settings for all output options, which can serve as a basis for you to customize
according to need. Or, you can create output styles from scratch.
To create an output style:
1
Choose Edit > Output Styles. The Output Styles dialog box displays.
Use the Output Styles dialog box to create, import, export, edit, and remove output styles.
2
Choose an option from the New drop-down menu.
3
Enter a name for your style in the Name field.
4
Specify settings in the panes. For information about EPS options, see "Exporting a layout in
EPS format." For information about AVE options, see "Exporting an App Studio issue" in A
Guide to App Studio. For information about PDF options, see "Exporting a layout in PDF
format." For more information about ePub options, see "Exporting for ePub." For more
information about Kindle options, see "Exporting for Kindle."
5
Click OK.
6
Click Save.
Working with trapping
Beginning with version 9.0, the application no longer supports spread and choke trapping.
Spreads and chokes that you set up with the Trap Information palette (Window menu)
will not be applied at output. However, overprints and knockouts are honored.
