If the user uses legacy preferences (from the previous version of QuarkXPress in
the latest version of QuarkXPress, then the old default styles will be applied for
the fresh documents also.
There have been significant improvements in the PDF output in QuarkXPress
on Windows OS. The performance increment is directly proportional to the
raster content in the document layout.
Compress Stream Objects
The purpose of this feature is to reduce the PDF size without compromising the
quality of its contents.
The “Compress Stream Object” option is provided in the compression tab of PDF
output style. By default, it is turned off in all the predefined PDF output styles.
When turned on, the uncompressed stream objects in the output PDF will be
recompressed with lossless Zip (also called flat compression in PDF specs)
compression.
