Use the dialog to configure the rules for scaling the items on the layout. The 4
Adaptive Scaling dialog allows you to configure rules for the page properties,
locked items, text, pictures, boxes, lines, tables, and any interactivity items
that may exist on the layout.

It is recommended that you create a copy of your file, before using adaptive
scaling, especially if you have checked the Synchronize Box Attributes &
Content option on the Text, Picture, and None tabs of the Adaptive Scaling
dialog. This option affects the source layout, and the sharing cannot be
undone. It adds numerous items to the Contents palette.
Large Pasteboard size
In QuarkXPress, individuals can increase/decrease pasteboard height (vertical)
too. In the previous versions, the pasteboard height (vertical) was fixed at 0.5”
and users could adjust (increase/decrease) pasteboard width (horizontal) only.
Project-level UI preference is available for modifying pasteboard height and it
applies to all project layouts.
This pasteboard height preference can be defined both at the application level
(without any projects open) or at the project level (for individual projects). This
preference gets saved with a project. On opening a saved project, the
pasteboard height preference is initialized from the project.
Similarly, if the user decreases the pasteboard size in preferences, the same will
be reflected in the layout. But while reducing pasteboard size, if there is an item
beyond the current pasteboard size, then pasteboard will be decreased to the
item’s bottom edge so that no item is lost.
