Working with footnotes and endnotes
Footnotes and Endnotes consists of two linked parts: the reference number that
appears in the text, and the Footnote/Endnote text that appears at the bottom of
the text. Footnote text is created at the end of a page and Endnote text is created at
the end of a story.
As you insert/delete Footnotes and Endnotes, they are automatically numbered as
they are added to/deleted from the text. This numbering will restart with each new
story. You can define the numbering style, appearance, and layout of Footnotes and
Endnotes.
Footnotes and Endnotes can applied to text within an anchored box, including
nested anchored boxes. The footnote text of the anchored text will appear at the
bottom of the page while its endnote text will appear at the end of the document.
Footnotes/Endnotes adhere to the following rules:
Text export is not supported for Footnote/Endnote in any format in
QuarkXPress.
Each Footnote/Endnote text is a different story, and thus the user cannot select
all the Footnote/Endnote text toegther.
Footnotes/Endnotes can be copy pasted within the same project and across
projects
Footnote/Endnotes can be imported from Microsoft Word (.docx) files.
Inserting footnotes and endnotes
To insert a Footnote or an Endnote:
Place the insertion point where you want the Footnote/Endnote reference 1.

Choose Style > Footnote/Endnotes. 2.
