The image you are attempting to convert must have vector or text components in it.
The Convert to Native Objects feature is not supported for Raster only images.

Check Retain Source Picture Box to compare the converted objects with the imported
source image.

Check Ignore Soft Masks to exclude the conversion of soft masks from the source
image.

Check Ignore Transparent Blend Modes to ignore transparent blends applied to the
source image.

Check Ignore Profile from Source Colors and the profile embedded with that image
in the source file will be ignored. It will be mapped to the QuarkXPress generic profile
instead.

Check Link Raster Images to save raster images from PDF to the disk as PDF images.
For saved projects, the linked images are saved in a folder with the project name added
with the image number appended. For unsaved projects it will be created in the temp
folder of the OS.

Click OK.
Import an object as a native QuarkXPress object
To import an item as a native QuarkXPress object:

Copy the object from its application to the clipboard

Right click in your project where you want to place the object and choose Paste as
Native Objects from the context menu (or Edit > Paste as Native Objects). The Paste
as Native Objects dialog displays.
