Table Of Contents
Creating a TOC for ePub or Kindle
When you export a reflow article as an ePub or Kindle eBook, you can create the table
of contents for that eBook in two ways:
Use the order of the reflow articles, with one TOC entry for each reflow article. You
can change the order of the reflow articles using the Reflow Tagging palette (Window
menu). To move an article up or down in the sequence, select the article in the Reflow
Tagging palette and click the Move Up or Move Down button. To update the
table of contents, click Update .
Manually create a list to define the table of contents, see "Working with lists.".
Working with eBook metadata
It's a good idea to associate some metadata with the eBooks you create, so that users
can easily find and get information about them. To add or edit metadata for a layout
that you will export as an eBook:
1
Display the layout in layout view.
2
Choose Layout > eBook Metadata. The eBook Metadata dialog box displays.
eBook Metadata dialog box
3
Use the fields in this dialog box to enter information about your eBook. In the
Keywords field, use a comma to separate keywords.
4
Use the language popup to specify the language of your eBook. This can be used by
readers to search for the correct book.
