of a column.

next column.
If a paragraph does not contain enough lines to meet the start and end criteria,
the entire paragraph is carried to the next column.

Using a baseline grid aligns paragraphs horizontally across columns and text
boxes. Check
Lock to Baseline Grid to lock selected paragraphs to the grid.
The grid is defined in the Baseline Grid area in the Paragraph pane of the
Preferences dialog box (QuarkXPress Server Þ Preferences).
TABS (TAB)
Edit Paragraph Style Sheets dialog box
Click the Tabs tab of the Paragraph Attributes dialog box to specify the
alignment, position, and fill character for tab stops.
