U
se the following structure to import a text string into a text box:
<
PROJECT>
<LAYOUT LAYOUTNAME="
[name of layout]
">
<BOX>
<ID>
[ID or name of target box]
</ID>
<CONTENT>"
Hello, World!
"</CONTENT>
<
[parameters]
>
</BOX>
</LAYOUT>
</PROJECT>
In the above example,
[ID or name of target box]
can be determined using
Telegraph XTensions software, and
[parameters]
includes the element types
listed in “Modifier parameters for data import.” Multiple parameters can be
supplied for a single box.
MODIFIER PARAMETERS FOR DATA IMPORT
Use the parameters described in this section to import data in a
QuarkXPress project.
PARAMETER DESCRIPTION
CONTENT Use CONTENT to import a text file, a picture file, or a
text string.
CONVERTQUOTES For text boxes only. Use CONVERTQUOTES to convert
straight quotation marks in imported text into type-
setter’s quotation marks (as specified in the
Interactive
tab of the QuarkXPress Server Preferences dialog box).
Setting this parameter to
YES also converts double
hyphens into em dashes. The default value for this
parameter is YES.
FONTNAME For text boxes only. Use FONTNAME to apply a spe-
cific font to the text that is imported. For example,
<FONTNAME>Arial</FONTNAME> applies the Arial
font to the imported text. If the specified font is not
available to QuarkXPress Ser
ver
, the default font
is applied.
INCLUDESTYLESHEETS For text boxes only. Use INCLUDESTYLESHEETS to
allow the addition of style sheets from the imported
text file to the target project. The default value for
this parameter is
YES.
