8. Depending on whether you are recovering a single VM or multiple VMs, use one of the following tasks
to complete VM recovery.
Recover a single VM
1. On the Selectthetypeofrecoverytoperform page, select VMRecovery to display the Selecta
targetvirtualmachineconfiguration page.
The page displays the name of the VM selected for recovery, as well as the original name of the VM's
configuration file.

2. Populate the following fields and check boxes, as needed:
Field/CheckBox Description
NewVMXName The name of the VM's configuration file.
Enter a new name for the configuration file, or keep the original name
for the file.
DatastorefortheVMX The datastore to which to recover the VM's configuration file.
Select a target datastore from the drop-down list.
DirectoryfortheVMX The directory in which to place the VM's configuration file.
Enter a new directory, or keep the original directory structure for the
file.
