Setting the Write-Protect Switch

Each tape cartridge has a write-protect switch similar to that
shown in figure 9
. This switch determines whether new data can
be written to the cartridge (write-enabled) or whether data on the
cartridge is protected from being erased or overwritten (write-
protected).

for proper label placement, write protection
settings and insertion orientation.
Note:
Only use bar code labels that have been designed
for cartridges. Do not adhere labels to a cartridge
anywhere except the slide-in slot.
