1 Connect a 9-pin RS-232 null modem cable to the COM port in the left-
most PCI slot the back of the DX-Series controller and to a serial port
on a local host system (see
figure 74).

2 Open a terminal emulation program on your host system and set the
following properties:
• Baud rate 115200
• Data bits 8
• Parity none
•Stop bits 1
• Flow control none
•Emulation ANSI

To install the system firmware (Linux operating system):
1 Insert the setup CD in the controller CD-ROM drive.
2 Reboot the controller by pressing the reset button on the front of the
controller.
