The Data Compression Page specifies parameters for the control of data
compression. This page allows the user to turn the tape drive’s
compressed format on and off independently of the tape medium’s
position. Additionally, it allows the user to enable or disable
decompression of the tape drive compressed data during WRITE
operations.
