The LOCATE command is used to do high-speed positioning to the
specified block address.
The READ POSITION command can be used to obtain the block address,
when writing, when particular blocks of data (a data file, for example) are
about to be written. The LOCATE command can then be used to position
the tape back at the same logical position for high performance restore
operations of particular blocks of data.
