Field Name Description

Immed Immediate. If this bit is set to 1, status is returned

as soon as the operation is started. If set to 0,

status is returned after the operation has

completed.

Tech Tip: The immed bit is accepted, but ignored

in processing.

Re-Ten Re-tension. Re-tension operations are not needed

on the tape drive. This bit is ignored (i.e., “good”

status, if bit is set to 1).
