4.10.2 Data Protection
If you move the cartridge write-protect switch to the left, and then load the tape, the
WP (write-protect) message displays.
Table 4-10 describes what happens to data protection when you move the write-protect
switch before you load the cartridge.

To the left, the tape is write-protected,

You cannot write data to the tape.
