The field add-on/upgrade or "trip" charge does not apply to any add-ons that are ordered w ith a new system and installed in it at the same time
as the system is installed if the system installation service has been purchased (or if the system price includes bundled installation). The field
add-on/upgrade charge may not apply to complex upgrades or to any add-ons external to the system. These upgrades or solutions are priced
w ith a separate installation charge that may be in addition to the "trip" charge. The service note w ill indicate those items that involve an

Quantum Scalar 50, and DPM, DX, DXi, and PX Series Systems:
In most cases, a single installation charge or "trip charge" applies regardless of the type of add-on or upgrade being performed. This includes
adding drives, features, options, pass-thru port installation, slot capacity upgrades, etc. that are installed in the unit after the initial library
installation w here the add-on/upgrade specifies that installation service is required, or for customer-installable items w here the customer
prefers to have professional installation by Quantum (or Quantum-authorized service provider). The field add-on/upgrade charge includes all
w ork that can be performed at a single site (one or more buildings w ithin a five-minute w alk on the same physical campus or business park)
w ithin four on-site hours. Hours in excess of four are charged at an additional hourly (or part thereof) rate.
Depending on the number of boards being installed, Fibre Channel installation on an existing system may consume all four hours (the total
number of hours) included in the Field Add-on/Upgrade trip charge. Therefore, as w ill usually be the case, if there are other add-ons/upgrades
being installed at the same time, additional hours w ill be charged (see the "Installation Time Schedule" below ). The Fibre Channel installation
includes verification that the robot and tape drives are available and visible at the primary sw itch. Customer is responsible for ISV softw are
setup, configuration and testing. Quantum System Integration Services are recommended for more comprehensive Fibre Channel
implementations.

The Field Add-on/Upgrade Trip Charge (model SN-TC-PNx) applies to Quantum Scalar 50, and DPM, DX, DXi, and PX Series systems for add-
ons/upgrades installed in a system after initial installation w here the add-on/upgrade specifies that installation service is required, or for
customer-installable items w here the customer prefers to have professional installation by Quantum (or Quantum-authorized service provider).
This charge includes all add-on/upgrade installation w ork that can be performed at a single site during the same visit.
The table below show s an estimate of the number of hours it w ill take to install various add-ons and upgrade. The Field Add-on/Upgrade Trip
Charge (SN-TC-PNx) price w ill be quoted based on the total number of hours required to install all add-ons/upgrades being installed at the same
site during the same visit.
Installation Time Schedule
Quantum Pathlight, Scalar 24, 100, i500, i2000 and 10K Systems:
Quantum Pathlight, Scalar 24, 100, i500, i2000 and 10K systems have separate installation charges for various types of field add-ons/upgrades
instead of the Field Add-on/Upgrade Trip Charge. Therefore, the Installation Time Schedule is not used for add-ons/upgrades to these systems.
