You can use alphanumeric characters to enter text:
NOTE: Displayed characters in the T9

mode vary depending on the selected input language.
Use
! to toggle T9

on/off.
In T9

mode, press A repeatedly until the correct word is displayed. When "-" is
reached, press
@ to spell the word you require.
