Before using your phone, you must sign-up/register with a wireless network
service provider to receive a personal SIM (Subscriber Identity Module). The
SIM card contains a computer chip that keeps track of your phone number, the
services included in your subscri
p
tion, and
y
our SIM
p
honebook information. It
is stored in a recess in the battery compartment.
The phone is unusable (except for emergency calls) until a valid SIM card is
inserted. It is possible to transfer your SIM card to another compatible phone
and access your network services. Your phone will display a warnin
g
messa
g
e if
the SIM card is not inserted properly.
Inserting the SIM card
Before inserting the SIM card, make sure the power is switched off.
1. Press down the rear cover.
2. Slide the rear cover about 8 mm in the direction indicated b
y
the arrows.
3. Remove the rear cover.
4. Unlock the finger tab from the battery lock.
5. Lift the battery holding both corners shown by the arrows.
6. Remove the battery to reveal the SIM card holder.
7. Slide the SIM card in the direction shown in the dia
g
ram. Make sure that
the SIM card is fully inserted in the holder.
If the
p
hone or the SIM card is
lost or stolen, you should
contact your service provider
immediately in order to
prevent unauthorized use.
Be sure to turn the phone off
before inserting and removing
a SIM card. Otherwise, dama
g
e
to the SIM card can occur.
T
he SIM card contains
p
ersonal
data such as your electronic
phonebook, messages, as well
as details of the network
services you have subscribed
to. The phone will not work
(
exce
p
t for emer
g
enc
y
calls on
some networks) unless a valid
SIM is inserted.
Do not bent or scratch your
SIM card.
If the SIM card is not fully
inserted when the battery is
replaced, damage to the SIM
card can occur.

Removing the SIM card
1. With the battery removed, press on the slope.
2. While

e, slide the SIM card so that its notched ed

the slope.
3. Stop pressin

the slo

e and

ush to slide the SIM card in the direction of
the arrow.
