Alfa-Bank

Founded in 1990, Alfa-Bank is Russia’s largest
private bank in terms of total assets. It has
approximately 40,000 corporate customers and
5.3 million retail clients. The Bank has 364 branch
oces, plus a subsidiary bank in the Netherlands
and nancial subsidiaries in the US, UK and Cyprus.
For any bank, the core of all IT mechanisms is the
Automated Banking System (ABS). Alfa-Bank found
that its ABS was preventing the business from
progressing. Any new initiative required tremendous
application updating eorts. Alfa-Bank decided to
modernise its existing ABS by migrating to a more
powerful platform.
To ensure the new system would be robust enough, a
separate team was assigned within the modernisation
project. This team would be responsible for the
quality of the updated program code and integration
of the ABS with other applications.

Automated Banking System
“The main advantages of HP Quality Center are manageability,
transparency and centralisation. We used all the software’s
functionality in a rather exhaustive way, gathered a huge amount
of comprehensive information about the testing process, quickly
analysed that data and used it for decision making. HP Quality Center
became the real core of the quality control process.”
