Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
applications.
The GSP-1620 modem provides a cost-effective way to collect
basic environmental and industrial data and turn remote
locations into real-time business data centers.
Electric Utility Industry
In the electric utility industry, a SCADA application using
the GSP-1620 modem could perform many tasks, for example:
• Remotely turn on a pump, close a switch, open a gate, or
request a new meter reading.
• Capture polled, scheduled, and event-driven data
cost-effectively.
• Monitor line voltage.
• Report on power outages, under/over voltage status.
• Monitor or remotely control the following:
❑ Transfer switches.
❑ Standby or portable generators.
