Power On - Standby Mode
• Power on:
➭ Press and hold Pwr about one second
➭ Indicator light illuminates briefly
➭ Phone goes to standby mode and searches for service based
upon service mode selected
• Once the phone acquires service the banner and the
appropriate icons display
➭ Date and time may optionally display based on service mode
➭ If service is not found after repeated attempts phone goes to
power save mode
When the phone is powered on it goes to standby mode and searches for available service.
The mode of service it looks for may be based on user preference, or the user may select
the desired mode of service (procedure is described on the next page).
The Globalstar antenna must be deployed if the phone is set to look for Globalstar service.
A message displays on the screen to remind the user to raise the antenna for Globalstar
service.
If the phone fails to acquire service after several attempts it will switch to power save mode
to maximize the life of the battery. The following message displays:
