Your packet data connection (for instance, “GS Packet Data”) should
now appear in the
Dial-Up Networking window. You can drag your
connection icon to the desktop to create a shortcut, if you prefer.
Setting Connection Properties
1. In the Dial-Up Networking window (or on your desktop), right-click the
data connection icon that you have created (for instance, “GS Packet
Data”) and select
Properties.

If you are using Windows NT, under “Phone entry to dial,” select the
connection you created, click
More, then select “Edit entry and modem
properties....”
2. In the
GS Packet Data dialog, click the Server Types tab.

If you are using Windows NT, click the
Server tab.
3. Under “Type of Dial-Up Server,” select “PPP.”
4. Under “Advanced options,” select “Enable software compression.”
5. Under “Allowed network protocols,” select “TCP/IP.”
6. Click
TCP/IP Settings.
