code to retrieve your messages. Every service provider is
different. Usually, press and hold the Message key . Your
phone dials your message center and an automated voice menu
guides you through these steps. Check with your service provider
if you need further assistance.
Knowing you have a message
You know you have a message when the Message icon
appears on your display. If the icon flashes, the message was
sent “priority” or “urgent.” Your screen may also flash or your
phone beep or vibrate, depending on how you set your alert
preferences (see “Customizing Alerts” on page 55).
Retrieving messages
To listen to your voice mail
Each voice mail notification automatically erases the previous
notification. It does not erase the actual message in your voice
mail.
1. When and “VOICE MAIL” appear, press and hold the
Message key . Your phone automatically dials your message
center.
To view information about the voice mail before dialing, press the
Message key without holding it. The MESSAGES screen
appears. Select [VOICE].
2. Follow the recorded prompts on the voice mail system to
listen to your message.
To view a page or text message
1. When and “PAGE” appear, press the Message key .
The MESSAGES screen appears. If you see something like “1 Page/
Msg,” you know you have a new message. Old messages are labeled
“Old Page.”
2. Select [TEXT]. Text of the first message appears. Messages are
displayed in the order received.
3. Press the Up/Down keys to view the message.
