28 Making and Receiving Calls Preliminary Draft
If you do not know your phones configuration, check with your
TA or do the following:
1. From the Home screen, select [MENU].
2. Select 7>Sec Admin; then 2>UPV. The type of configuration
appears on the screen.
Know your PIN
Your PIN is an access number distributed by your Terminal
Administrator with your phone.If you are a traditional or
autosecure user, you will be prompted for this number to make
secure calls.
1. From the Home screen, select [MENU].
2. Select 7>Sec Admin; then 1>Secureuser.
If you do not know your PIN or have forgotten it, please contact
your Terminal Administrator.
Making calls
There are several ways to make and receive calls, depending on
the kind of phone you have (traditional, autosecure, or secure-
only), whether the call is clear or secure, and how you dial the call:
Direct dialing or simply pressing the keypad to enter the
phone number (page 28)
Redialing from the history list stored on your phone (page 30)
Retrieving the number from your phone book (page 48)
Using touch dial or speed dial (page 48)
Direct dialing and using the history list are explained in this
section; using the more advanced featuresusing the phone
book, touch dialing, and speed dialingare briefly defined here
with cross references to sections that discuss them in detail.
Direct dialing
The simplest way to make a call is direct dialing or pressing the
numbers on the keypad to enter the phone number.
