Using the Contacts Database
Deleting Characters from a Field
To Delete Characters from a Field
!
To delete the character preceding the cursor (or the last character entered), press
the Clear ( ) key.
!
To delete an entire line of characters, press and hold the Clear ( ) key.
Entering Contacts
There are four ways to enter contacts:

Enter contacts directly.
!
Open the Recent Calls list and save a number as a contact.
!
Save a number just dialed as a contact (at the end of that call).
!
Save a callback number left with a message as a contact.
To Enter Contacts Directly

From the Home screen, press the Select ( ) key.

Scroll to the
Contacts
tab, and press the Select ( ) key.

From the Contacts menu, select
Add New
.

Select one of the following options:

Phone:
The Phone Number field appears. Enter a phone number. The
phone number can be up to 32 digits long. This phone number is
automatically hyphenated when it appears in the Contacts database. Read
“Understanding QSec Type Phone Numbers” on page 59 to verify that you
enter the correct number into Contacts.
"
Email:
The Email Address field appears. Enter an e-mail address (see
“Entering Text into an Alphanumeric Field” on page 60). The e-mail
address can be up to 256 characters long.
"
Address:
The Street Address field appears. Enter a street/mailing
address (see “Entering Text into an Alphanumeric Field” on page 60). The
street address can be up to 256 characters long.
"
Web Page:
The Web Page field appears. Enter a web page address (see
“Entering Text into an Alphanumeric Field” on page 60). The web address
(URL) can be up to 256 characters long.
Note
Make sure you enter the full-length phone number into Contacts (including the
area code, if applicable).
