In-call Features
To Transition from a Secure Call to a Clear Call
You can only transition secure calls to clear calls when the two phones are strapped
Traditional or Auto-secure. If either phone is strapped Secure-only (or is a non-QSec
phone), you cannot transition from a secure call to a clear call; the secure call will
continue.

Perform one of the following actions:

From the screen keys displayed during a secure call, select [Go Clear].
"
Press or press and hold the Send/Talk ( ) key, depending on your
phone’s strapping (see “Determining Your Phone’s Strapping” on
page 21). This action is similar to initiating a clear call.

The procedure that follows depends on which phone initiated the transition: the
originator of the secure call, or the receiver.

Secure call originator initiates transition:
The recipient of the transition
receives a “Transition to clear call?” prompt. After selecting [Yes], a
message appears on the screen notifying both phones that a transition to
clear is in progress. After the transition to clear is complete, both phones
indicate that the call is no longer secure.

Secure call receiver initiates transition:
The recipient of the transition
receives a “Transition to clear call?” prompt. After selecting [Yes], the
initiator of the transition then also receives a “Transition to clear call?”
prompt. After selecting [Yes], a message appears on the screen notifying
both phones that a transition to clear is in progress. After the transition to
clear is complete, both phones indicate that the call is no longer secure.
Making Three-way Clear Calls
Three-way calling allows three parties to participate in the same phone conversation.
Three-way calls can only be made in clear mode. Contact your Terminal Administrator for
details.
Forwarding Clear Calls
When there is an incoming clear call on your phone, you can select one of the following
screen keys to forward this call to another number:

[Forward Call]: Forwards the incoming call to a pre-programmed number. See the
following section if you want to change this number.
Note
If you or the other party selects [No] in the “Transition to clear call?” prompt, the
clear call fails. In addition, the secure call is not continued.
