Making and Receiving Secure Calls
Your phone must be turned on and receiving a signal in order to receive a secure call.
When a secure call is received, your phone displays “Incoming Secure Call” on the
screen. Press the Send/Talk ( ) key to answer it, or answer the call using any key (see
“To Enable “Answering a Call Using Any Key”” on page 29). Alternatively, you can press
the Power/End-call ( ) key to reject the incoming secure call.
If you have not entered your PIN prior to receiving the secure call, you are prompted to
enter it. After entering your PIN, the message “Going Secure Voice” appears, followed by
a series of other messages.
When the secure call is connected, a secure call screen appears.
Responding to a Secure Call
To reject an incoming secure call, press the Power/End-call ( ) key.
When a secure call is received, the following two screen keys appear:

[Silence]: Silences the ringer. The incoming call alert remains on the screen.

[Ignore]: Stops the incoming call alert.
Receiving Secure Calls with Single-number
Phones
If your phone does not have a separate basic phone number and async number (see
“About Your Phone Number(s)” on page 13), you receive a secure call using one of the
following methods:

Arrange to make a clear call with the other party, and then transition to a secure call.
This is the recommended way to receive a secure call when the other party is using
a QSec-2700 or QSec-800 phone (unless either phone is strapped Secure-only).
See “To Transition from a Clear Call to a Secure Call” on page 45 for details on
making this transition.
Note
No other calls can be received while you are engaged in a secure call.
Note
You can adjust the volume of your phone using the Up and Down navigation
keys. Use the [Mute]/[Unmute] screen key to toggle the muting.
Note
You cannot put a secure call on hold, send a secure call to voice mail, or forward
a secure call to another number.
