Contacts
Cannot connect to the
number for a STE or
Sectera GSM phone using
the Contacts database
Check that you did not save the number as a QSec type
(
)
. Only QSec-2700 and QSec-800 phones should be
saved in Contacts with a QSec type (see “Understanding
QSec Type Phone Numbers” on page 59). If problem
persists, contact your Terminal Administrator.
Cannot connect to the
number for another QSec-
800 or QSec-2700 phone
using the Contacts
database
Check that you saved the basic phone number in Contacts,
NOT the async (secure) number. If the async number was
entered, delete it and enter the basic phone number (see
“Customizing and Editing Contacts” on page 65). If you enter
the async number and save it as a QSec type (
)
, all calls
to that phone will fail (see “Understanding QSec Type Phone
Numbers” on page 59).
Cannot determine which
number(s) to enter for my
new contact
For other QSec-2700 or QSec-800 phones, enter their basic
phone numbers into Contacts. DO NOT enter their async
(secure) numbers into Contacts (see “About Your Phone
Number(s)” on page 13).
For non-QSec phones with two numbers, enter both of their
numbers as separate entries:
“Dave - clear” and “Dave - secure”.
See “Entering Contacts” on page 62 for procedures on
adding entries to your Contacts database.
Phone number I entered
into Contacts changed to a
different number
This is normal behavior. You may have accidentally entered
the async (secure) number of another QSec-2700 or QSec-
800 phone into Contacts. If you did this, but did not save the
number as QSec type (
)
, then during the first secure call
the phone number for that entry will automatically revert to
the basic phone number (see “Understanding QSec Type
Phone Numbers” on page 59).
Secure Mode Characteristics
Cannot tell if I am logged
in as a secure user or not
DO NOT leave a QSec-2700 phone unattended while in
secure mode. To determine if you are logged in, select the
Security, PIN, Login
menu item.
If you are already logged-
in, you will be notified.
Cannot log out of secure
mode
See “To Log Out of Secure User Mode” on page 21.
