Call Transitions
Transition to clear call fails
with non-QSec phone
This is normal behavior. The QSec-2700 phone is designed
to transition from a secure call to a clear call by selecting the
[Go Clear] screen key (see “Transitioning Between Clear/
Secure Calls” on page 45). This feature only works between
QSec-2700 phones and other QSec-2700 or QSec-800
phones. This feature does not work with STEs, Sectera
GSM phones, or other non-QUALCOMM phones. When
talking to users of these other types of phones, you must
hang up the secure call and separately initiate a new clear
voice call to their clear number.
Transition to clear call fails
with QSec phone
Make sure your phone is authorized for clear calls. Select
the
Security, Access Control
menu item, and check the
‘Security Strap’ setting. If this setting is Secure-only, contact
your Terminal Administrator. Otherwise, try again. If the
problem persists, contact your Terminal Administrator.

Clear/Secure Calls” on page 45). This feature only works
between QSec-2700 phones and other QSec-2700 or QSec-
800 phones. This feature does not work with STEs, Sectera
GSM phones, or other non-QUALCOMM phones. When
talking to users of these other types of phones, you must
hang up the clear call and separately initiate a new secure
voice call to their secure number.

Try again. If the problem persists, contact your Terminal
Administrator.
Cannot transition from
clear voice call to secure
data call
This feature only works between QSec-2700 phones and
other QSec-2700 or QSec-800 phones. This feature does
not work with STEs, Sectera GSM phones, or other non-
QUALCOMM phones. Assuming the other phone is a QSec
phone, this problem occurs when the phone attempting to
initiate the transition is not the phone that originated the clear
voice call. The [Go Secure Data] screen key is only
displayed by the originating phone. To successfully make
this transition, you can either have the originator perform the
transition, or end the call and try it again, this time as the
originator.
