Introduction

Thank you for selecting the QSec -2700 phone for your secure communication needs. The

QSec-2700 phone is a Type 1 secure cellular phone that operates over 800 and 1900 MHz

commercial CDMA cellular networks. It is compatible with currently available FNBDT-

capable devices, including the QSec-800 and FNBDT-enabled versions of the wireline

Secure Terminal Equipment (STE), Sectera Wireline Terminal (SWT), Sectera GSM

phone and Omni.

Features of the QSec-2700 Phone

The QSec-2700 secure cellular phone functions as a regular wireless phone, and with its

embedded security solution, provides end-to-end high assurance voice communications

to meet the needs of authorized users on commercial CDMA networks. Features of your

new phone include:

Clear and secure transmission for voice (see “Making and Receiving Clear Calls” on

page 27 and “Making and Receiving Secure Calls” on page 31)

Transmission of clear data up to 153 Kb/s, and secure data up to 38.4 Kb/s (see

“Making and Receiving Data Calls” on page 37)

BREW compatibility, which allows you to download and use applications (apps)

from your service provider’s network using the MobileShop application (see “Using

MobileShop” on page 97)

A Messages application capable of sending/receiving voice mail and text messages

(see “Voice Mail, Pages, and Text Messages” on page 49)

A Contacts database for storing frequently-used numbers and addresses (see

“Using the Contacts Database” on page 59)

Sending and receiving e-mail and accessing the internet using a separately-

purchased data cable (see “Accessories” on page 131) that is connected to a laptop

or handheld device

Transition between clear voice calls and secure voice calls, and transition from clear

voice calls to secure data calls, when communicating with another QSec phone (see

“In-call Features” on page 45)
