NOTE
Long distance calls require both 1 and the area code, except in areas where
ten-digit dialing is available.
Dialing a speed-dial number
➤ Dial on your touchtone telephone:
EXAMPLE
To speed dial the phone number that you stored, 555-1212, dial 1

Canceling a speed-dial number
➤ Dial on your touchtone telephone:
You will hear a confirmation tone, and the dial tone will resume.
EXAMPLE
To erase the phone number 555-1212 that you stored in your speed dialer
dial #10 01#
Hotline phone number
The hotline feature on the NIU allows you to set up a special hotline phone
number. This number will be dialed automatically when the handset has
been lifted from your telephone and no dialing has occurred for
approximately 8 seconds.
NOTE
When using the hotline feature, do not take the handset off-hook to avoid
receiving calls.
<speed dial> = 1 through 20 for phone numbers stored. No
leading zero is necessary for dialing single-digit
codes.
<speed dial location> = 1 through 20 for stored phone numbers (Erasing
speed dial locations 1 through 9 requires a leading
zero; that is, 01 through 09.)
