TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM SOLUTION
No dial tone Verify that the telephone is plugged into the NIU.
Verify that the antenna is connected and not
cross-threaded.
Verify that the power cables are properly
connected.
Verify that the NIU is receiving a sufficiently
strong signal from the service provider. Dial
#91951#, listen for a two-beep confirmation tone,
and adjust the position of the antenna or NIU to
maximize the beep rate. If this is unsuccessful,
see the solution for “no tone generated.”
If none of these solutions solve the problem,
contact your service provider.
No tone
generated when
checking signal
strength
Dial #91951# and listen for a two-beep
confirmation tone, which indicates that the
telephone has entered signal verification mode.
Try repositioning the NIU. Locations near an
external window, upstairs, and away from large
metal barriers (such as a cabinet or refrigerator)
are best.
Dialed telephone
number does not
connect
Check the dialed number again for misdialed or
incorrect digits.
If there is a rejection tone, the call type is
restricted.
If there is a busy tone, the network system may be
busy. Wait a few minutes and dial again.
If the above solutions do not work, try connecting
a different model tone-dial telephone to your NIU.
