IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION
When using your Network Interface Unit (NIU), follow these safety
precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury.
Caution
• Never spill liquid onto the NIU. Do not use it near
water (a bathtub, sink, wet basement, or swimming
pool) or during an electrical storm.
• Do not use the NIU to report a gas leak if you are in
the vicinity of the gas leak.
• Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords. This
can result in risk of fire or electric shock.
• Never push objects of any kind through slots in the
casing. They could contact dangerous voltage points
or short out parts, resulting in risk of fire or electric
shock.
• Slots and other openings in the NIU are provided for
ventilation. To protect it from overheating, do not
block or cover these openings. Do not place the
product on a rug, sofa, or similar surface that could
obstruct these openings.
• Do not place the NIU near or over a radiator or other
heat source.
• Use caution when handling a damaged or leaking
battery. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire, as they
may explode.
• Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Use only
proper QUALCOMM charging accessories. Unapproved
charging equipment may cause batteries to explode or
leak corrosive electrolyte.
