Setting Up the pdQ Smartphone
This section explains how to set up the pdQ smartphone. The setup process
requires the information and parts listed below.
pdQ smartphone
pdQ smartphone battery
HotSync cradle
Serial cable or dB-9/dB-25 serial adapter
Name of the serial port on the computer used for HotSync™ operations
(For detailed information about serial ports, refer to your computer
documentation.)
Setting up pdQ smartphone entails aligning the pdQ smartphone screen and
defining preferences. Preferences are defined in either the Preferences
application or a stand-alone application. For example, network and modem
preferences are entered in the Preferences application while pdQmail
preferences are defined in the pdQmail application.
The checklist below lists setup procedures and identifies steps required to
use the phone. Use the checklist as a guide to ensure you complete the
required as well as optional procedures. Preferences assigned a default
setting, such as those for the modem, are not listed as required in the
checklist.
