Chapter 8
Mail
The Mail application enables you to manage your e-mail. You can use
Mail to synchronize the mail in your computer’s e-mail application
with the mail on pdQ™ smartphone.
pdQ smartphone is delivered with two e-mail applications: Mail
and pdQmail. Mail lets you read, store, and delete e-mail messages
received on your computer and to create e-mail messages. To
transfer e-mail messages between pdQ smartphone and your
computer, you need to perform HotSync. You cannot use Mail to
send or receive e-mail messages from pdQ smartphone.
If you delete messages from pdQ smartphone using Mail, your next HotSync
®
operation also deletes the messages from your computer’s e-mail
application — so you never have to delete messages twice. Similarly, if you
read a message on pdQ smartphone and leave it in your inbox, your next
HotSync operation marks it as read on your computer’s e-mail.
pdQmail is the most powerful and versatile e-mail application available for
the Palm III operating system. You can use pdQmail to send, receive, create,
and manage e-mail messages directly from pdQ smartphone. This capability
makes it easier than ever to stay in touch with the added convenience that
only a wireless hand-held smartphone provides.
With Mail, you can:
■ Use your pdQ smartphone to send and retrieve e-mail messages from
your computer’s e-mail application.
■ View, delete, file and reply to incoming mail.
■ Create outgoing messages as well as drafts of messages that you can
complete later.
■ Create simple or complex filters, which allow you to decide the type of
e-mail that your pdQ smartphone retrieves from your computer’s e-mail
application.
To open Mail:
1 Open the keypad, then tap to open the Applications Launcher.
2 Tap to display the Message List screen.
