pdQmail Shortcuts
pdQmail Shortcuts
pdQmail includes shortcuts that give you quick access to menu options.
Shortcuts, entered using Graffiti script, appear to the right of applicable
menu options.
To use a shortcut:
Write / and then the letter that corresponds to the shortcut you want
to use in the left side of the Graffiti writing area.
Managing pdQmail Attachments
If an incoming message includes an attachment, pdQmail displays only the
name and file extension of the file but will not deliver the attachment
because of the file size limitation of the pdQ smartphone. Attachment
information is usually at the end of a message. If there is more than one file
attached to the message, pdQmail provides information only on the first
one. You need to open attachments from the application after downloading
them to your computer.
Working with Different Types of Text
pdQmail displays plain, “text/enriched,” and Hyper Text Markup Language
(HTML) text and saves it until you perform HotSync. pdQmail also:
Converts HTML to plain text
Handles sets and encodings for U.S. English and many European
languages
Handles a limited amount of Unencode (an encoding type)
When sending HTML formatted e-mail, usually two copies of the message are
included, the first in plain text, the second in HTML formatted text. When
pdQmail encounters this, it displays the text version of the message if the
HTML formatted text has not been completely retrieved. Then, if you retrieve
the rest of the message, the message text you see won’t change, but you
will see the added HTML formatted text.
