2. A protective cap have been added to the 8-Pin SDL connector on the display unit cable.
Use the hole at the end of the protective cap for routing the cable through the vehicle.
3. Route the display unit cable, with other cables if possible, from the front of the vehicle
toward the back to the MAS. Be careful that you do not damage the connectors when
pulling them through holes or under carpeting.
• If the display unit is on the dash, route the cable through the firewall and under the
cab to the MAS.
• If the display unit is in the sleeper, route the cable under carpets to the MAS.
4. Provide strain relief to the display unit cable.
5. Neatly coil and store excess cable.
6. Remove the protective cap and examine the connector again for bent pins and other
damage as you did in step 1.
Caution
If you insert a damaged connector into the MAS, you may damage the electrical
contacts and the MCP can malfunction.
