Selecting a Mounting Location Mobile Application Server (MAS) Installation

The MAS is installed in these steps

• Installing the mounting tray

• Installing the battery pack into the MAS

• Installing the MAS into the mounting tray

• Connecting the cables to the MAS

Selecting a Mounting Location

If possible, install the MAS and mounting tray in the storage compartment beneath the

sleeper bunk. Typical installation locations for different vehicle types are shown in Chapter 4:

Installation Planning. Also choose a location that provides easy access to the SD card slot at

all times.

Adequate Clearance

The minimum requirements for adequate clearance around the MAS for ventilation, cooling,

and easy access are:

• Sides and back of unit—1 inch.

• Top of unit—1 inch.

• Top of unit—3 inches to open the battery door and access the battery.

• Front of unit—6 inches to allow for proper cable bend radius exiting the unit.
