Connecting the Display Unit Cable to the MDU
Follow these steps to connect the MDU cable to the MDU.
Caution
Do not step on or drop any objects on the display unit cable connectors.
Do not let the connectors lie on the ground unprotected.
1. Route the display unit cable through the appropriate channel on the back of the MDU or
follow the instructions located under the access door of the MDU (see the following
illustration). The cable can be routed so that it emerges from the right or left side of the
MDU. Usually, it is routed to the right side so that the MDU can be pulled to the driver’s
side without interference from the loose, coiled cable.
2. Make sure the rubber grommet fits in the grooves of the MDU and that the flat side of
the grommet on the display unit cable is facing up.
3. Install and tighten the cable strain relief clips on the back of the MDU, making sure they
securely hold the cable. This prevents the cable connector from being pulled loose from
the MDU
