MCP Address, Diagnostic, and Information Screens
The Information screen on the MDU is used to identify the unit and diagnose problems.
To view MCP address and diagnostic information on the MDU, from the View Status screen,
press or until the MCP Information screen appears.
The fields for the MCP Information screen are described as follows:

UNIT
ADDRESS or
UNIT SERIAL
NUMBER
Shows the mobile unit (MCP) ID, e.g., 105000xxx. It tells the dispatcher
the correct address for sending messages to the truck. If the MCP is
replaced, this field will display a different address.
GROUP
ADDRESSES
Shows the group ID to which the MCP is assigned. It may also show the
number of other groups of which the MCP is a member. These numbers
are defined and used by the dispatcher to address the fleet or groups of
MCPs.
FC/no The signal strength received from the data satellite (the forward signal).
The desired minimum value is 10dB. Typically, values should be
between 45 and 62, depending on geographic location.
RC/no The signal strength received from the MCP (the return signal). The
desired minimum value is 10dB. Typically, values should be between 25
and 45, depending on geographic location.
CDD Data
Base State
Customer and mobile unit (MCP) information has been received by the
MCP and is up-to-date. The desired value is “sync complete.”
OutOfSync Mobile unit (MCP) information has not been received by the MCP and is
waiting to be updated. To correct OutOfSync, move the vehicle in line of
sight with the satellites and wait 20–30 minutes for the MCP to be
updated.
