Redisplaying the MCP Status Screen
The MCP Status screen displays as long as the driver does not press any of the function keys
on the MDU. After the driver presses a function key, press the VIEW STATUS key at any time
to redisplay the MCP Status screen. No typed information is ever lost by pressing the VIEW
STATUS key or any other function key.
Field Description
Date and Time When the MCP powers on for the first time, the MCP Status screen
does not display the date and time. After the MCP first acquires
the satellite signal, it displays the current date and time and the
currently selected time zone.
DRIVER If the driver has logged on, this field displays the driver’s name or
ID. If the driver has not signed on, this field displays
UNIDENTIFIED.
STATUS Indicates the MCP’s operational status. This field displays one of
the following:
• GOOD is displayed if the MCP is operating properly.
• A numerical error code (e.g., 10000) is displayed if the MCP
detects a problem. Refer to the
OmniVision™ MCP and
Accessory Diagnostic Guide
for troubleshooting procedures to
follow if an error code displays.
• QUIET is displayed within 10 minutes after you turn the ignition
off. The amount of time the MCP stays on after the ignition is
turned off is set by the dispatcher. The MCP can still send and
receive messages in the QUIET mode as long as the NO
SIGNAL light is off.
UNREAD
MESSAGES
Indicates the number of messages that the MCP has received but
that have not been read. This number increases as the MCP
receives new messages, and decreases as they are read.
MSGS BEING SENT Indicates the number of messages that the MCP is currently
sending to the dispatcher. This number increases as the driver
sends new messages and decreases as the messages are
acknowledged by the NMC.
