1.1.4 Carriers
Each coverage territory, typically aligned with country boundaries, has one or
more Service Providers, which provide the user service, similar to a “cellular”
model. The Service Provider or Carrier is licensed by Globalstar to offer
service in a part of the world wide coverage area (one or more countries). The
Service Provider offers “airtime” to the OEM or end user, as well as providing
a customer care center, and billing records for the satellite air time used and
the packet data traffic sent and received.
As Service Providers vary by region around the world, it is best to refer to the
Globalstar Web Page to identify the correct service provider in your area of
