6. Hardware Description
6.1 Module Mechanical Description
The Globalstar GSP 1620 Globalstar Satellite Packet Data Modem is a
sandwich made of two circuit card assemblies (CCAs) which are open and
unprotected. As a result, the GSP1620 must be shielded from direct impacts,
precipitation, and particulates. I/O is obtained through four connectors.
Power, data, and control functions are accessed via a 25 pin “D” style
connector. The Qualcomm Diagnostic Monitor (offered separately) interface
is a 9 pin “D” style connector. Globalstar RF transmit and receive signals are
each ported out MCX style coax connectors.
